Cheene’s passion for helping individuals feel safe to open dialogue and navigate life’s challenges with confidence began when she volunteered for a non-profit organization that provides psychosocial debriefing for military personnel and communities affected by natural disasters in the Philippines.
She also has experience working with individuals who have learning disabilities, those in aged care, WorkCover clients with psychological injuries, and is currently providing services to individuals on remand in one of the maximum-security correctional facilities in Sydney, NSW.
Cheene adopts a person-centred and collaborative approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Cheene works with adults presenting with:
- Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
- Trauma, grief, and adjustment difficulties
- Risk-related issues, including self-harm and suicidal thoughts
